Charles R. Hofheimer- Lead Counsel is a tough, no-nonsense divorce and custody lawyer who is a formidable opponent in any courtroom. He has a long history of fighting for the advancement of women, even going back to his college years. As President of the student body of Washington & Lee Law School, he successfully advocated for the acceptance of women by the law school. During his Presidency of the Old Dominion University Intercollegiate Foundation, the University granted the first women’s basketball scholarships. As a former General Counsel for the Democratic Party of Virginia, he advocated for the rights of women and minorities in the political process. For 10 years he has lectured  monthly on "What Women Need to Know About Divorce." A committed and knowledgeable advocate for women, he has successfully represented and fought on behalf of women who are now judges, lawyers, housewives, doctors, school bus drivers, educators, business owners, military wives, and shipyard workers in the Hampton Roads community.

Jeffrey D.Tarkington combines compassion with tough advocacy as he guides women through the divorce process. Jeff is recognized for his expertise in complex real estate issues arising in divorce. His easy going out-of-court style masks his fierce advocacy, strong intellect, and unrelenting commitment to each of his clients. In addition to his divorce clients, Jeff leads the firm’s criminal defense team when usually unwarranted criminal allegations are made against our divorce clients by unscrupulous spouses.

Kristen D. Hofheimer is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law.  She has written and lectured on the issue of breastfeeding in the context of divorce, custody and visitation.  In addition to negotiating and litigating custody and visitation cases in which breastfeeding is an issue, Kristen has handled all sorts of custody, visitation, and divorce cases in various Virginia juvenile and domestic relations district courts, circuit courts, and in the Virginia Court of Appeals.  Challenged by novel legal and factual issues, and having her analytical and writing skills approved in both academic legal publishing and Virginia courts, Kristen will “think outside the box” in analyzing a case, and has obtained favorable results for her clients both by her written and oral trial advocacy skills. Kristen is divorced and lives with her 6 year old son in Virginia Beach.

Sheera R. Herrell can best be described as smart, tenacious and aggressive. Sheera enjoys preparing cases for trial, litigating and striving to insure that her clients receive their full entitlements. With the knowledge that divorce, custody, and visitation cases are emotional and deeply personal, Sheera is careful to analyze the factual issues of each case and provides every client with personal attention. In addition to divorce, custody and visitation cases, Sheera is part of the firm’s criminal defense team. Not one to shy away from adversity, Sheera is passionate about her work and is a strong advocate for women. Sheera’s combination of astute professionalism and youthful vigor has won her the respect and appreciation of her clients as well as her fellow colleagues.
